THE COMPANY:
Streets Ahead Southampton Ltd is the company name for the non-profit making organisation that is now driving forward Southampton's new City Centre Management programme through a robust and realistic Business Plan. Chaired by Andy Collyer of WestQuay, the company has an Executive Board including former City Centre Manager Ian Welland who is assisting in an advisory capacity during the interim period before a new City Centre Manager is appointed.
Formed by a group of businesses and stakeholders in the City, the company seeks to engage with the business community and civic agenda to deliver a series of quality and impacting short, medium and long term projects. Underpinned by an ethos of “can-do” and with an appropriate support infrastructure, the company seeks to develop partnership working, increase involvement and inclusion, broker dialogue, work alongside agencies and networks, encourage investment; and input to strategy and policy.
Through membership, the company is achieving contributions in finance and “in kind” in order to assist a specific programme of action adding value, enhancing profile and assisting in positioning and sustaining In just two years, the new City Centre Management have an impressive list of strategic and practical achievements. Southampton’s vitality and viability. Central to these aims is for Southampton to become ‘the’ key location/capital for the South of England.
